Accounts & Sign-in
One person, one account — how sign-in methods work and what to do if you end up with two.
Sign-in methods
You can sign in to Convocados with:
- Password — email + password you chose at sign-up
- Google — one click, uses your Google account's primary email
If both methods use the same email address, they automatically share one account — no extra steps needed. You can manage both under Sign-in methods on your profile.
Why you might have two accounts
Signing in with Google creates (or opens) the account for your Google account's primary email. If you later sign up with a password using a different email, that creates a second, separate account. Convocados cannot tell that the two emails belong to the same person, so it never merges them on its own — you stay in control of which account is which.
The result: your events, players, or history may be split across the two accounts.
How to merge two accounts
Merging moves the data of one account into another. Pick the account you want tokeep (the "survivor") first — its data stays put.
From the web app
- Sign in to the account you want to keep
- Open your profile (click your name, top-right)
- Find the Sign-in methods section
- Click Link Google
- Sign in with the Google account that belongs to the other Convocados account
- A Merge accounts? dialog shows which account will be absorbed — confirm with Merge accounts
What happens on merge
- The absorbed account's data moves into the account you kept
- The absorbed account is signed out on all its devices
- The absorbed email + Google credential now belong to the surviving account
- The merge cannot be undone — the confirmation dialog explains the details before you commit
Avoiding splits in the first place
- Sign in the same way each time, or link both methods to one account early via Sign-in methods → Link Google
- Before creating a "new" account, try signing in with Google — you may already have one
