Search nearby Playtomic courts, compare prices and availability, and get notified when booked courts free up.

Overview

When editing a game event that uses a Playtomic-supported sport (football, futsal, padel, tennis), you can search for alternative courts nearby. The court finder shows available time slots with prices, lets you switch your event's venue in one tap, or book directly on Playtomic.

How to use

1. Open your event and tap Edit (pencil icon)
2. Below the location field, tap Court Alternatives
3. Adjust the time range, distance radius, and indoor/outdoor filter
4. Tap Search now
5. Browse results in list or map view
6. Tap a time slot chip → choose Book on Playtomic or Switch event to this court

Features

• Time range filter — defaults to your game time +2h, adjustable
• Sort by price, time, or distance
• Map view — toggle between list and map with markers per club
• Multiple sport variants — searches both FUTSAL and FOOTBALL_OTHERS for 5-a-side
• Court photos — shows club thumbnail when available
• Deep links — opens Playtomic with the correct sport and date pre-selected
• Show more — paginated results (5 at a time, up to 15 clubs)
• Grouped by club — multiple slots merged into one row with clickable chips

Court Watch (availability alerts)

See a court that's booked but cheaper than your current one? Toggle "Include booked courts"in the search filters to see unavailable courts too. Then tap the bell icon to create arecurring court watch.

A court watch monitors a specific court on a recurring weekday and time window (e.g. "every Monday 18:00–20:00"). When that court becomes available, you'll receive a push notification and an in-app alert.

How it works (technical)

• A cron job processes active watches every 10–15 minutes
• Watches are batched and grouped — identical club/date queries are deduped
• Availability is cached (10-minute TTL) to minimise upstream calls
• You're notified only once per slot (deduplication via CourtWatchHit)
• Max 20 active watches per user

The court finder works for any sport that Playtomic supports:

• Football 5v5 (searches FOOTBALL_OTHERS + FUTSAL)
• Futsal
• Football 7v7
• Padel
• Tennis (singles & doubles)

Requirements

• Your event must have coordinates (set via Google Maps link or the Playtomic court finder during creation)
• You must be the event owner or admin
